Everyone, without exception, should have equal access to the information and technology that make our modern society possible.
I have worked in a number of public libraries in various areas including Children’s Services, Reference Services, Technical Services, and Technology Services. In each of these libraries, and in each of these areas, I have used and introduced appropriate technologies to improve library services to patrons.
My undergraduate studies were completed at Divine Word College Seminary in Epworth, Iowa, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Philosopy anda minor in Cross-Cultural Studies.
My graduate studies were at the College of Library & Information Science at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina where I earned my Master of Librarianship. It was there that I also developed my career-long interest in the application of marketing and planning in the public library environment.
I also have studied at Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan.
I was fortunate to be able to volunteer for the Georgia State Defense Force in 2009. Since enlisting, I have attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6) and have qualified as a Basic Instructor and as an Enhanced Emergency Medical Responder. I am currently attached to 5th Brigade Schools as an Instructor and EMR.
